A Gathering of Excellence The celebration was graced by the presence of esteemed guests from prestigious institutions such as Drexel University, Texas Woman's University, and New York University. Their involvement added depth and insight to the occasion, shedding light on the dynamic world of nursing. Inspiring Inaugural Address The highlight of the event was the inaugural address delivered by the Honorable Baba Dr. Davinder Singh Ji, Vice Chancellor of Eternal University. Derstine Excellence Award" by Dr. Neelam Kaur, Advisor Health & Education, The Kalgidhar Trust. This award seeks to recognize and celebrate exceptional students and faculty members who demonstrate outstanding dedication, leadership, and innovation in their academic pursuits and professional endeavors. It stands as a testament to the commitment of Akal College of Nursing and its partners to fostering excellence in nursing education. A Special Guest of Honour Dr. (Col) Rajinder Singh Ji, Senior Psychiatrist at Akal Drug & De-Addiction Centre, graced the occasion as a Guest of Honour, adding his blessings to the nursing students and the event itself. Lamp Lighting Ceremony One of the most symbolic moments of the ceremony was the passing of the light among eminent nursing mentors and leaders - Dr. Jill B Drextine from Drexel University, USA, Dr. Marylou from Drexel University, USA, Dr. Mehmooda Regu, Principal, Akal College of Nursing, Revered Dr. Neelam Kaur, Advisor, Health & Education, The Kalgidhar trust and All Faculty of Akal College of Nursing. This act represented the transfer of knowledge, wisdom, and guidance from experienced professionals to the fresh nursing buds. The Lamp Lighting Ceremony holds deep significance in the nursing profession. It symbolizes the commitment of nursing students to the service of humanity, as they take their first step into the noble field of healthcare.
